Alta Vista is a full text search engine, which uses “spiders” or “robots” to create its own databases from public Internet Web pages. It uses the word, acronym or phrase that is input and creates a database of Web sites containing those terms. The results are listed with the most relevant sites first. Alta Vista is considered a single or individual search engine since it searches individual sites only.
Additional features of Alta Vista include a directory of Web sites reviewed by its editors and organized by category. If you’re not sure what terms to search, you can select a category and follow its path to get where you want to go. A section with Web tools allows you to send and receive email, map out a set of directions, translate foreign language information, catch up on the latest news, etc. A business center and shopping directory are also available from the home page.

Reaction: Alta Vista for me, is a good example of search engines because it provides web and newsgroup search engines, as well as paid submission service and it is a unique engine because it uses spiders or robots to create its own databases.

Dogpile

Dogpile is a meta-search engine that transmits a search simultaneously to several individual search engines and their databases of Web pages. The default list of search engines queried varies. You can also customize Dogpile to search specific search engines. Results are retrieved in lists of 10 hits from each engine queried. If more than 10 results are found, a link to the next list of hits is given. It is important to remember that meta-search engines only spend a short time in each database and may only retrieve a small percentage of any of the results in any of the databases queried.

Reaction: Dogpile also for me is a best example of search engines for the reason that Dogpile fetches and ranks results from multiple search engines, letting you search for key word, pictures, audio, video, news,or phone numbers.

About.com is a directory similar to Yahoo that covers more than 50,000 subjects with over 1 million links to resources on the Internet. The directory consists of over 700 sites organized by individuals called Guides, into 36 channels or subject areas. The Guides are experts in their individual subjects, who gather and create hundreds of thousands of pages of content to share with users. Guides are selected for their ability to provide the most interesting information for users, their commitment to finding the best sites, and their passion for their subject and the Internet.

Reaction: About.com search engines is also consider for me as a great types of engine in the reason that it covers a large number of subjects.

FRIENDSHIP

Friendship: What is a friend? There are acquaintances, casual friendships, close friendship, and intimate friendships. We all have acquaintances, faces we recognize and people we greet by name. Casual friendships happen through continued contact. Close friendships are developed through sharing of interests and spending time together in certain activities.

But intimate friendships are what everyone desires and needs. These are friends that stay with us no matter what. They listen to us and are genuinely interested in what is best for us. They always tell us the truth, even if it hurts sometimes. But that's okay because they are interested in our well-being.

When you are in trouble or facing a difficult situation, who do you depend on to help you sort it all out? Who do you wish you could turn to? Everyone wants the of friend that will be there for them no matter what. Who are your friends? Are they just acquaintances, or intimate friends? Sometimes even our friends may let us down, but there is one thing that is sure--Jesus wants to be your friend. When you accept His friendship you will never be disappointed.

Life is all about love.

People keep on saying: a month of February is a month of love(February 14 "Araw ng Puso"). It is true? Exactly, love should be your priority, primary objective, and greatest ambition. Love is not a good part of your life, it's the most important part. And love should not exist only in the month of February, it should be exist everyday, every hour, every minute or even every seconds because the best use of life is love.

Sometimes, when you full of happiness because of the great things you've experience, you like to speak to the public of what a good things you've encounter, you want to tell and share to them of what makes you smile, and that is what I've feel now...hehe..

Before when I was just come and go in our Church, I have no close friends because actually I am a shy girl. "Sabi pa nila", I am uneducated girl in times I am in Church. Yes, I don't know how to deal with them, how to build a relationship with them especially to the youth. I'm always comparing my self with them that I'm not a perfect friend to them. I'm a poor conversationalist. I don't seem to know how to begin interestingly. I sometimes answer question in monosyllables. I must appear a big bore to other people. But didn't know what I feel inside my heart. I'm always wishing that someday I can build a relationship to the youth, I want to join them every time when they have an activity, outing, party, fellowship or any kind of enjoyment they did, but I don't know how, how to begin. I'm always looking down my self, and I'm always put to my mind that this is my stage of my life forever.

But one day, a big surprise happened, God gave me an instrument that will be the bridge that I can build a strong relationship to them. He cares me and he introduced me to my co-youth in our Church that will be the steppened-stone of my life stage to them.

Now, I am very happy that I am a part to their lives, we are always together every time we have an activity and party in our Church. And you know what, another thing that makes me happy this month...? Simply, even my special someone is already my friend now (how nice!!! hehe..), but I'm not expecting more of that, I'm happy already of what close we are now. I'm enjoy my self together with him and them. I'm happy because he can do to share with me the enjoyment he encountered in his life. And I'm very happy also that he makes me laugh every time I'm sad and every time I have a problems. Thanks for them, and thanks for God. I love you.
